Madrina, the woman who introduced me to Starbucks, who always made sure I knew I was loved and cared for. You taught me not to settle, your last words of encouragement to me were to do what made me happy and what was best for me and my kids. It doesn't matter what anyone else says, they won't understand...but as long as I do that's all that matters. I love you, and I know you love me so much more from where you are.

Rose is and will always be a beautiful woman in my life. We met as children living in Parkchester, we attended Junior High School 127 & years later served on the PC committee reunion (2014-2017) . One of my fondest memories, is the one time when I was experiencing a rough patch & my youngest daughter was attending a GED program, I purchased her a monthly metro card to get there and back. After two days of traveling my daughter lost the card (anyone that uses public transportation in NY know just how much a monthly metro card cost). I wasn't able to buy her another one right away.
Out of the blue Rose called to check on me and my daughter, I told her what happened. Rose suggested that we go out for lunch. She came to my house and we ended up at the local diner. We talked and laughed and YES enjoyed our meal. When she dropped me at home, she reached into her purse and pulled out a metro card and said to me. I understand you're going through a hard time right now and with Mia loosing the card it will be hard for her to go too school. So I bought her another monthly metro card, I want her to finish and pass her test, and if there is anything else I can do please don't hesitate to call and let me know. Right there in her car I cried like a baby. I thanked her..... We hugged (I'm not a hugger) but that day I hugged her and thanked her again.
ROSE I'M GOING TO MISS YOU, It's been a couple of years since I last seen you, But I know the love we have for each other is there.
It's never goodbye..... It's
SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE

Dear Big Sister Rose as you were called by so many, I want to say Thank You for the person you were. Your kindness, humor, loyalty, humbleness, empathy for people, and sisterhood did not go unnoticed for the 47 years that I’ve known you.
You were an integral person to the Parkchester Family, if I may the Matriarch of PC4Life. You kept clicks together and kept in touch with everyone. You were at 2 places at one time I would say…showing up to everyone events on the same day almost at the same time.
I was very angry when I first found out you became an Angel. I didn’t understand and didn’t want to because of who you were…everything to everyone. I felt it wasn’t fair…gone to soon. I am glad you found out how much you meant to the Christian family when we sent you flowers for your birthday (that mishap didn’t take away from it, lol).
Thanks for the memories and the experience of you.
Love you forever Big Sister Rose.
Rest in Eternal Peace in God’s paradise.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel at the news of RoseMarie's passing. She was an exceptional person, kind, funny, friendly and thoughtful with a heart full of love. We were friends since our school days back in JHS 127 in the Bronx and we remained friends despite living far apart. Her infectious laughter during our catch up chats will never be forgotten. Rose cared for her friendships deeply and kept them alive. She will always be remembered fondly as a true friend who brightened up my life with her spirit and intelligence. My thoughts and prayers go out to her husband, children, mother, sister and family as they navigate this difficult time without her radiant presence. Rest in eternal peace dear Rose; you will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

Cousin RoseMarie was indeed the glue that kept my Boley family connected to other family members that i did not know. January of 2022, RoseMarie rented a house in Florida and invited her Mother Charlotte Mattax to join her. she also invited myself and sister Joanna Boley-Lee to join them for an afternoon. She intentionally surprised her mother with our presence. We had not seen Charlote in maybe 30 years. What a wonderful time we had sharing. I also met her daughter, son and a nephew destined to be a basketball player. Thank you my dear cousin...may God give you a rose from me. The Queen of all beautiful flowers is the Rose. Have you seen one, Have you received one? Have you smelled one? Have you held one, kissed one? A Rose is one this earth’s greatest Beauties. We all knew RoseMarie, a woman who was Happiness, Bliss and Love Supreme. The only equal to a Rose, is the buds on its bush (Lauren and Lil Sean). What a Rose needed was to be a flowerbed and fertilized (that is the Love of Big Sean) and its stem (Her Mother Charlotte, Her Father Bedford, and her loving Sister Angie on a another stem in their family bush. Her petals which are her many family and friends. RoseMarie like a Rose are never selfish. Her nectar attracts and feeds the butterflies and bees to continue life. Rose helped heal us in our Worst. We are so lucky to know a woman who is a Rose, RoseMarie. Dearest RoseMarie, you were our Love Supreme. From Reginald Antoine Mabry

I remember when I first saw Rose. She was standing in the hallway of Great Falls Elementary School and she stood out. I thought to myself, "Who is this tall blonde haired Black woman?". Somehow we got to talking and realized that our sons were in the same grade, and I was so excited to make another connection with a family at that school.
I quickly found out that Rose was one of those people who always has a lot of energy, always laughing, smiling and joking. She wasn't afraid to be herself, and I loved that. I was impressed with the fact that she could have such a simple short hair style, rock it, and still look beautiful and feminine. One of my favorite memories of her is when she told me about a new job that she had just started. During a business team meeting at a restaurant, she found out that the manager wanted to give her a lot of extra work that she had specifically not agreed to. She got up, excused herself, and walked out. LOL... I still get such a laugh out of that story! I was amazed at her boldness. She was not afraid to be herself.
I have so many great memories of Rose. Way too much to share. She was truly a unique person and will be missed.

RoseMarie has always been a sweetheart. I met her shortly after moving to Parkchester in 1969. Throughout the years, she has always had a smile on her face, a kind word and a pure welcoming heart. RoseMarie was so generous to all that had the opportunity to know her. It was nice spending a few very memorable times with her in Virginia. She has left her footprint in many places but mostly in Parkchester. Thank you to the Hailey and Mattox family for sharing RoseMarie.

Rose and I became friends at Junior High School 127, remained great friends in Columbus High School and throughout out adult lives. We were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. Our friendship became stronger when she asked me to be the godmother of her oldest child, Lauren. Rose was also my sponsor when I got baptized Catholic as an adult.
Rose and I communicated almost every day via phone, text or social media. Nothing was more important to her than her family and friends. Rose was that person that always made sure you were good.
Whenever I went to church, Rose reminded me to pray for her and her family. If she knew someone wasn’t doing well, or had passed, she asked me to light a candle and pray for that family. Rose always thought of others. She was always smiling and love to make others laugh with her Facebook posts. Don’t worry Rose, my prayers will never stop. I miss you my friend.

Rose was a hilarious, irreverant soul, a character at times, who was plain spoken and just a hoot. She loved life and live it well, while loving her children and husband and family. She seemed unbothered by life's complications and didn't have time for the foolishness from others. Don't be foolish around Rose, she will dismiss you quicker than a flash. She also was a beautiful and graceful dancer, one of our common ties growing up in the Bronx. We studied ( and Angi too) ballet at Vickie Sheer School of Dance. We performed together, but after around ninth grade, I left that dance school and trained at other organizations. We connected again later in life after many years, thanks to the magic of FB. Rose shared she continued at Vickie Sheer, performing and teaching, even learning tap dance, which she wasn't interested in at first. But we bonded on motherhood, marriage and just being two African American women from the same generation living in today's society. I enjoyed our conversations. Her FB posts could light up anyone's day and always made me laugh out loud ( LOL). The world won't the same without you, Rose. I'll miss you. My heartfelt condolences to Angi and Mrs. Mattox, Rose's two beautiful children and husband, family and all who loved her. Way too many to count. Sending prayers of peace at this very difficult time.

She was instrumental in many of the friendships that I currently have to date. Even though life and distance happened; we still managed to keep in contact. She would often check on me and encourage me when she knew I was experiencing challenges in my life. I'm praying for the family and all who love her. She is already missed... Terri Lee
