I was honored to know Miss Bonnie through her daughter Karen. My husband and I were included in many of their family gatherings over the last 15 years. Miss Bonnie was always dressed beautifully with her hair "done" and lovely accessories. She and I had some interesting conversations over the years and she was a wonderful conversationalist. The last year or so she had a hard time speaking but you knew that she was trying to say something , but the words wouldn't come. However, she would have a gleam in her eye so you knew she understood!
My mother and I so enjoyed our visits with her. Every time we left, Mama would lean over, pat her on the hand and tell her she loved her. We both miss those visits.
Miss Bonnie, through Karen, gifted my mother with so many lovely clothes over the years since they were the same size. Every time Mama wears something, I tell her that it is a gift from Miss Bonnie and she'll say " well I have to send her a thank you note!" We are very appreciative of this generosity.
