Obituary of Bonnie Mae Anderson

Bonnie Anderson lived 98 years and then went to heaven on June 15, 2023.

Bonnie was born January 24, 1925 in Waverly, Washington to Bertha and John Yuill. Her siblings were Alma, Leona, and Johnny. She was the youngest of her family. Bonnie went to Fairfield High School in Fairfield, WA. On May 18, 1946 she married Harry T. Anderson Jr. in Lafayette, CA. They lived in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, they had Janis and Karen. Then the family moved to Virginia in 1962 where Harry worked for the Navy in fire protection. They got divorced in 1979. Bonnie worked for Atlantic Research and then Northrop as an executive secretary. She retired at the age of 65 and lived in her own townhouse until age 94 when she moved to Harmony at Chantilly. Her daughter Karen provided daily support for many years.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Janis Mosteller and Karen Gonet, her six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren by Janis and Mike Mosteller of Raleigh, NC are Corrie Bitsas of Raleigh, NC, Mary Tennant of Raleigh, NC, Esther Futrell of Cleveland, SC and Anne Mosteller of Raleigh, NC. Her grandchildren by Karen and Gary Gonet are Katie Brylski and
David Gonet. Bonnie’s long life allowed her to see 17 great grandchildren: Corrie and John Bitsas have John Jr., Michael, and Anna Claire. Mary and Ben Tennant have Bonnie and Elijah. Esther and Jonathan Futrell have Liam, Everett, Joanna, Sydney, and Othelia. Katie and Steve Brylski have Landon, Caleb, Molly, Rachel and Tyler. David and Julie Gonet have Anderson and
Eva.

Visitation will be held on June 29, 2023 at Adams-Green Funeral Home (721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170) from 10:00AM – 10:45AM with a service to follow at 10:45AM. Burial service will be private.
