Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lutke

Mary Elizabeth Lutke, of Ashburn, passed away at the age of 80 on August 5 after a long illness.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years Thomas, her sons Michael and Jonathan, her daughter Karen McCarty, and grandchildren Jane, Helen, and Julia.  She was preceded in death by her son Thomas.  She was born in Miners Mills, a subsidiary of Wilkes Barre PA, and was the only child of George and Jane Lutchko(Finn).  After moving to Cleveland OH, she studied nursing at St. Vincent Charity Hospital School of Nursing.    She was a proud employee of Inova Loudoun Hospital for 23 years where she was fondly known as “Med Surg Mary”.  She enjoyed sewing, pottery, and traveling with her husband.  Mary was an unforgettable force of nature and will long be celebrated by those who were lucky enough to have known her.
