Charles was the kindest, very gentle, and most faithful man. I was his pastor at Hope Lutheran Church in Annandale for 13 years till I retired a decade ago When he was able to worship in person he always was able to discuss the sermon that day in depth; when he became homebound, he read my printed sermons sent to him each week and would discuss them in depth when I visited him at home.
He and Nancy had a great marriage of unconditional love.
