Dearest Alice, Timmy and Katie,
Thank you for sharing Ken my wonderful cousin and nephew to my Mum, Ellen with us in Perth, Australia.
Ken has always been a most generous, kind, loving, faithful, appreciative and giving gentleman.
Dear Ken,
Your Aunty Ellen is deeply saddened, as we are. I will always remember how you told me how appreciative you have been that my parents Joe and Ellen brought you across continents as a baby into the loving arms of your parents. It was different times back then, but it was a journey worthwhile.
We reflect and commend your most honourable life, and your deep love of your dear family, friends and colleagues across the world.
These are two photos that show our Aussie connection.
God bless you Ken and thank you.
Your Aunty Ellen, your late Uncle Joe, Nikki, Russell, Mark, Justine, Angus, Claire and Jake.xxxxxxxxxx

Ken was always caring, kind and thoughtful every time I saw him at FF parties. He made sure that he asked me about my cancer treatment prognosis. He encouraged me to keep up with my exercises for my compression fractures of my spine caused by the cancer. We had lively discussions about our aging bodies. Both of us had decreased hearing capacity. We traded information on hearing aids. I think we decided Costco was one place to go. I inquired about his Scouting activities. I told him my experience as a Scoutmaster of Troop 5 Berkeley, CA. As a member of the troop, I learned survivorship skills, learned to appreciate nature and perhaps the most importantly developed my leadership and communication skills. I admire Ken for his service to the BSA and his attempt to develop a new generation of leaders. Irene and I regret that we will not be able to attend the services as we will be out of town Sept 22-24, 2003. Enjoy a happy and wonderful celebration of Ken's life. Again our condolences to Alice, Tim and Katie.

Ken and I were close friends through Scouting. He and I served on the National Capital Area Council's International Committee and Endowment Committees. Ken enjoyed life and was a member of the Rotary Club of Springfield Virginia when I was the President in 2021.
Ken helped Scouts at local, national, and international events. Ken served with me on the staff of the Aviation Merit Badge Program at the in 2017 at the Summit in West Virginia.
Ken and I would often meet for lunch to talk about our lives and the world around us. I enjoyed his company and conversation. Importantly, I admired him for so many of his attributes: generosity, wisdom, and concern for others.
All who knew Ken regret his untimely passing and miss him greatly.
Ken's Friend, Philip Sternberg

I have a simple memory and picture of Ken from Boy Scouts. I was riding with Ken to a BSA Troop 55 outing, when I thought it odd that map directions on his GPS were provided in Mandarin Chinese. He mentioned that he tries to keep his Mandarin current through a number of mechanisms. We then got into a conversation about how to maintain proficiency in Mandarin, which then evolved into us quizzing each other in Mandarin linguistics. This ended pretty quickly because of my insufficient capability to keep up with Ken.
