I recently told Mary how much she impacted my life at the Post Office. Coming in the back door every morning, the first thing I saw was Mary throwing parcels. She was a ferocious worker, consistent and kind. Mary’s presence on the work room floor set an example for me to follow for the day.
Mary invited me to her home to celebrate “the year of the rabbit.” We had a great time partying and playing all types of musical instruments. Several hours passed before she finally told me it was her birthday. That was Mary, did not want any fuss over her big day.
My deepest condolences to the family. Our Mary left many happy memories for us to cherish.

Mary was a wonderful student and athlete. I was her teacher and coach, and affectionately called her “O’Toole. Over the years, we lost touch. Fortunately, I found her and shared a great and lengthy phone conversation with her. Thrive in your new heavenly home, my dear “O’Toole”. I will always love you.

Mary and I met about 37 years ago sitting in our family doctor’s office with our four combined kids. Her Michael and my Timmy were magically going to be starting kindergarten in the fall at the same elementary school out in the county. My Michael and her Virginia also became instant friends for many years to come. We did school activities and cub scouts and occasionally sports activities together. Mostly we spent time playing and talking.
As our family grew and grew, Mary would watch our older toddlers as I went to doctors appointments. On the day I found out we were having twins, she met me wanting to know. I laughingly told her I had one baby down here and one baby up here! Before I even told my husband. Those were the pre-cellphone days!
One of our saddest days was when the Credle family moved East and we’ve only seen our dear friends once since then. I will see you again soon my dear friend Mary. I love you, Waynette
