George Ora Bizzigotti, age 52, of Herndon, VA died on December 10, 2009 at Reston Hospital Center. He was born on September 29, 1957 in Manhasset, NY. George was a 1979 graduate of Rutgers University where he earned his B.A. degree in Science; he then went on to earn his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Rutgers in 1982. From 1982 to 1984 George did his post doctoral work in Strasbourg, France at the University of Strasbourg with Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Laureate in chemistry. George was an assistant professor of organic chemistry at Auburn University from 1984 to 1987. In 1987 he began his career with Mitre Corp as a systems scientist. He then joined Mitretek Systems when it split from the Mitre Corporation in 1996, now called Noblis, where he was currently employed as a Senior Principle Scientist. George was the beloved husband of 23 years of Mary Gretchen Bizzigotti, loving son of Raymond and Edna Bizzigotti of Surprise, AZ, brother of Susan Rickmeyer of Mesquite, TX, brother-in-law of Betty and Craig Boyles of Anderson, SC, uncle of Michele Taylor and her husband Stephen of Simpsonville, SC and Jason Boyles and his wife Nicole of Anderson, SC, great uncle of Benjamin and Matthew Taylor. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 15 th at 11am at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Interment will be private. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Reston Interfaith, 11484 Washington Plaza W, Reston, VA 20190
