Obituary of Robert Calvin Smith

Robert C. "R.C." Smith, age 88, of Reston, VA died on September 27, 2010 at Reston Hospital Center. He was born on December 7, 1921 in Lexington, NC to the late Harvey and Unetta Smith. Robert was the former husband of Gloria J. Long of Fairfax, VA, loving and devoted father of Linda Shankle and her husband Skip of Lady Lake, FL, Vickie Eckhardt and her husband Bill of Sebec, Maine and Robert "Bob" Smith and his wife Lisa of Gainesville, VA, brother of Rev. Bryce Smith and Richard Smith, both of Lexington, NC, proud grandfather of Brett, Kevin, Stephen, Bryan and Hilary, great-grandfather of Josh, Hannah, Christopher, Natalie and Matthew. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1 st from 12 noon to 2pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will be held at 2pm. Interment will be private. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, 807, Maine Ave S.W., Washington, DC.
