Louis Edgar "Ed" White died November 30, 2010 at INOVA Loudoun Memorial Hospital in Northern Virginia while visiting family, due to complications from his battle with cancer. Ed was born in Fairfax County, VA on October 25, 1930 to Roscoe and Mary White. He is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty years, Marilyn. Ed retired from Fairfax County Government after 30 years, was a successful realtor with Long & Foster Realtors for over 10 years following his retirement. After which, he and his wife Marilyn relocated to Southern Pines, NC, and most recently resided in Winston, Salem. Ed was an active member of the Oak Forest United Methodist Church. Ed had a tremendous love for his entire family, and enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He is survived by his three daughters; Donna White of Winston-Salem, NC, Debra LeBlanc of Simsbury, CT, and, Diane Davis and her husband Barrett of Broadlands, VA; five grandchildren; Kimberly Jacobs and her husband, Craig, Jason White and his wife Ashleigh, Theodore LeBlanc IV, Sean LeBlanc, and Devin LeBlanc; and four great-grandchildren; Kurtis Jacobs, Evan Jacobs, Allison Jacobs, and Summer White. He also leaves behind one brother, James White, and two sisters; Katherine Jarboe, and Marian Campbell, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl White and his sister, Edith Smith. Ed White was an amazing man and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. On Sunday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m., a memorial service to honor Ed's life will be held at the Oak Forest United Methodist Church in Winston Salem, NC. The family will receive visitors in the Family Life Center at the church immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Oak Forest United Methodist Church, 11461 Old US Highway 52 Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or The Children's Home, Inc., 1001 Reynolda Road Winston-Salem, NC 27104-3200.
