Obituary of Gerrold Kenjiro Mukai

Gerrold Kay Mukai, 74, died March 12, 2012, at his home in Reston, Virginia.
Mr. Mukai was born October 18, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, to Kenjiro and Tono Mukai.
Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandpa. He enjoyed bowling and playing card games with his family.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from and taught at Weber State University and was a professor at Westminster College. He and his family moved to Virginia to serve as special appointee to President Carter's administration. He then entered the private sector working for Unisys and Sun Microsystems to finish his professional career.
He is survived by his wife, Ellyn Sachi Mukai; children, Roger, John, Marika and Jim Hobson and Michael; grandchildren, Ariel, Kimberly, Thomas and Garrett; siblings, Himeyo Kariya, Dorothy Hashimoto and Peggy Shimizu.
Family visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Virginia on Tuesday March 20, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorial service will be held at United Christian Parish, 11508 North Shore Drive, Reston, Virginia at 2PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Gerrold Mukai to United Christian Parish or National Institute of Health.
