I will never forget how important it was for you to make fresh coffee for us when Sheila and I visited you and Ginny in the Spring of 2004. You would go around the room and ask "how many cups of coffee will you drink" I would say "one or two", this drove Sheila nuts she said "Make a whole pot!" He would reply "when you want more just ask me I will make it for you..it's better fresh". Such a great host! I really enjoyed his company and his contribution to conversation. You will be missed dearly. Bless your soul.

The standard of joy for me will always be measured by the smile on my father-in-law's face in a Super 8 film from 1955. Although the film has been converted to Beta, then to VHS and DVD, the smile of sheer joy as he watched his son, John (my husband), toddle towards him is crystal clear (and in HD format) in my memory. To this day I have seen and felt joy but have never seen it expressed better than on my father-in-law's face. I have been so fortunate to see his smile over these past 24 years and so honored to call him 'Dad'.
