Diane: I was so glad you called, though the sadness it brings was unexpected. I will always think of Pete with his wonderful smile, the calm and the inner peace that he radiated, and his amazing culinary skills(and willingness to make me a paella without shellfish!). Remembering back to the 70's and 80's when I lived in Washington, I smile remembering all the antiquing we did together in our jaunts to the countryside, the Italian restaurant you both loved to frequent with bands of friends and extended family like me. And I will cherish most the call you both made to me asking for my help in staging your surprise wedding! I flew out from Chicago. Pete and I hustled to order flowers and complete Diane's task list to pull together what turned out to be a memorable surprise for all the guests! I took, about ten years ago, a special photo of the two of you that is framed and sitting on my piano. It, and my fond memories of Pete, will always have pride of place on my piano and in my heart. Much love to you. Diane, too.

Diane I am sorry to hear about Pete. I know it has been a difficult time dealing with his alzheimer. It has been ups and downs and I have always had you both in my thoughts over this past year. Pete was special to me. I loved his involvement in our reunions. We had so much fun together and he was such a big help. The more he tried to control us with his videoing I would just get a big hoot out of it. Because of him we had on film so many fond memories. I'll miss him and just want you to know how much I cared for him and I'll be here for you whenever you need me. Rae
