My prayers and sympathy are with Laurie's Family. Laurie was such a bright shining light! She was the first to welcome a "newbie" to the AIM family and make us feel connected. Laurie and I talked about "turning 50", hot flashes and night sweats, dating at this stage of life, and buying shoes at the Plum Bottom!! Her greatest joy was clearly her children...may you always know how much you were loved.

We were so very saddened to learn of the passing of this always wonderfully full of life woman. Laurie's light was always bright and her energy truly sparkled. I would love to see her run by our home with her dog...if I was out with mine, we would yell across the street to one another with the dogs barking away...even if we couldn't hear one another, it was just great to see her smile...I can't think of a time when we would chat when she wasn't happy, smiling and laughing...she just had the best energy. I know she loved her children and was so caring when she would talk about them...she was very proud of the people they had grown up to be...I would give the credit to Laurie because she was such a special, loving soul. It goes without saying that she is gone way too soon, but I hope her family and closest friends know that she touched many lives with her love, kindness, humor and care and that because of this, she will forever be remembered. May your beautiful spirit fly free sweet Laurie. With love, Stephanie and Scott

Laurie visited with our family when she came to Nashville in February for a Home Show. My husband Rob set up dinner plans with Laurie and our middle kids (Eli-16 and Andie-8) and our foreign exchange student (Jessy-17) from Germany. Laurie was of course charming and engaging and laughing the whole time. Revisiting her German language skills with Jessy (Laurie had lived in Germany as a child) and trying to teach us some useful phrases was so funny to us all! I remember how important it was to my husband to have Laurie and Andie together at dinner...he said, "I want our little girl to see that a woman can be a leader and successful in business, and Laurie Sloan is a great role model for her".
Thank you Laurie. Thank you for being the "boss" and friend that you were to my husband. We all looked up to you with great admiration and respect. Our hearts are broken without you!

I am Julie Puckett's twin sister. I only met Laurie a half dozen times, but all of them were memorable. She had an outsized, gorgeous presence, with a spectacular smile and a can-do attitude. I delighted in the wonderful mentorship relationship Julie and Laurie shared. I had the pleasure of going out to eat with her once, and found her inquisitive, engaging, quick to laugh, and very interested in topics I am passionate about, such as natural lifestyle choices and creating mindfulness. Based on personal experience, I am convinced that she lives on and is very aware of the love she spread in this world. Thank you for the opportunity to once again hold her in my heart.
