Obituary of Francis L Robey

Obituary for Francis L. Robey Francis L. Robey, 75, of Ashburn VA, lost his nine month battle with cancer on Saturday June 23, 2012. Francis was the son of Nellie Franklin Robey and Clem D Robey and was born on June 7, 1937 in Waxpool, VA. He lived his entire life in his home community of Loudoun County. Francis was married to Delia G. Robey, who passed away in 1997, with whom he had three children. He spent many years with his beloved partner, Mary McDonald, who passed away in 2008. He retired from Estes Express Lines in 1999 after 36 years of very dedicated service. Francis was a long time member of the Moose Lodge in Leesburg, Va. For those who knew Francis, understood him to be a very caring, loving and proud man. His knowledge of history and commitment to his Ashburn community was a blessing to all around him. Francis loved his vegetable gardening and has taught many how to make their gardens flourish with much care and attention. He was an amazing cook and shared this talent with friends and family often. Francis is survived by a very loving family: Wesley and Lisa Robey; Gary and Melissa Robey; Bill and Teresa Belcher; Joan Robey; Tommy Robey and grandchildren: Valerie Robey, Victoria Robey, Jillian Belcher, Claire Belcher and Kaleb Taylor. Francis also thought of Mary McDonald's grandchildren, Christina and Kaylei Suarez, as his own. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 1 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street Herndon, VA 20170. Donations can be made in Francis Robey's name to The American Cancer Society at 124 Park Street SE #100 Vienna, VA. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for the support and love of all family, friends and neighbors who supported Francis on his journey these last 9 months.
