Obituary of Marlene Simone Kennedy

Marlene Simone Kennedy Of Sterling VA passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Fair Oaks Hospital on March 6, 2013. She was born on October 23, 1945 in Paris, France, and grew up in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania where she attended St. Jerome Catholic grade school and Marian High School. She graduated as an RN from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing and practiced recovery room and operating room nursing at the U of P Hospital in Philadelphia and at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in Los Angeles, California. Marlene was the beloved wife for 42 years to Patrick J. Kennedy of Sterling, Va. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Marissa and John Bubb of Martinsburg, WV, and a son, Daniel Patrick Kennedy of Arlington, Va. and his fiancée, Leigh Wilson. She was the devoted daughter of Renee Williams of Churchville, Md. She also leaves behind her dear sister and brother in law, Rosalind and Harve Bennett, of Churchville, MD, her uncle Joseph Kielbasa and his wife Carol of Orlando, FL and two grandsons, Tyler and Reilly Bubb as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Kielbasa, in 2003. A private family visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA. Services will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 46639 Algonkian Parkway, Potomac Falls, VA; and followed by an interment service at Union Cemetery, Leesburg VA.
