Elfriede Lindquist, 67, of Reston, born in Grablach, Austria, passed away on Thursday March 18, 2013 at home. Wife of Ronald Lindquist, mother of Robin and Jeffrey Lindquist, and sister of Alois, Stefan, and Rudolf Glinik, and grandmother of Maxwell and Alexa, children of Amanda and the late Robin Lindquist. Ron and Elfriede married in 1967 in Heidelberg, Germany, and then in the Catholic Church in Klagenfurt, Austria, resulting in a marriage of over 45 years. Her husband Ron, an officer of the United States Citizenship and Naturalization Service, has over 46 years of government service. Elfie immigrated to the United States in the spring of 1968 to begin her life in this country in Spokane, Washington. She was an accomplished gardener and excelled as a designer specializing in wedding dresses while ending her career as the proprietor of Elfies Design in Herndon . Family will receive friends from 10 - 11AM on Thursday March 21, 2013 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston VA, 20191, where a funeral mass will immediately follow at 11AM. Interment will take place at a later date in Austria. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to The American Cancer Society.
