Obituary of Kimberly Ann Mister

Please share a memory of Kimberly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kimberly Ann Mister, age 41 On April 16th at 1:23 a.m., beloved wife of Jerry W. Mister, Jr., devoted mother of Laura and Sarah, daughter of Sun Yon Sewell, and sister to Angelica Swinford, Rosemary Gaffney, and Rebeccah Gervasini. Family will receive friends during the viewing being held at Adams-Green Funeral Home located at 721 Elden Street in Herndon on Friday, 19 April from 12-2 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mister family. Kim grew up in Weaver, AL as the eldest of four girls. She paved the way for her sisters in school and set a high standard for each of them amongst the teachers. As the oldest, Kim was fiercely devoted to ensuring her sisters were safeguarded and heading down a positive path. She enjoyed music and marched in the high school band as a talented saxophone player from 7th through 12th grades. She continued her education at Jacksonville State University. During this time, she met and fell in love with Jerry Mister whom she married on November 11, 1995. An intelligent and highly motivated student, she was the first in her extended family to ever obtain a college degree, a bachelor's in Business Administration. As a supportive wife, Kim handled the daunting role of military spouse with admirable grace during Jerry's eight years of service in the U.S Army. Kim and Jerry were blessed with the births of their two beautiful girls--Laura Hope born in Anniston, Alabama while Jerry served overseas in Kuwait and Sarah Faith born in Colorado Springs, CO. Keeping in mind the inspiration of her mother, Kim made the conscious decision to put aside career goals and stay at home to rear her girls. She tirelessly worked to instill within them the strong family values with which she and Jerry were raised. Always the dedicated mother, she ensured Laura and Sarah were given an exceptional childhood by getting them involved in scouts, sports, and other activities which she often volunteered her time to lead. Following the example her mother set, she selflessly devoted countless hours to attend and volunteer at functions in which her daughters participated. During these events, she was often noted as going above and beyond. Her cooking skills were always praised, her crafting and creative skills were always called upon, and her giving nature was admired. Kim is known for these things, but she will also be remembered by those that knew her best as a Trivial Pursuit queen that could beat anyone on any given day, a crabbing and fishing connoisseur, and a person that loved to travel and enjoy time with those she loved. She had a smile and wit about her that made people have to laugh. She was a truly amazing woman, a dearly loved daughter, an exemplary sister, devoted mother, and faithful wife. Kim will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
