Obituary of William A. Hukari

Bill was born on September 22, 1946 in Hood River, Oregon, and grew up there in a Finnish community with many relatives. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. His BA degree was earned at the University of Washington, and his MS degree at the University of Oregon, and he was proud to be both a Husky and a Duck.
Bill worked for many years in computing, information technology, and engineering management, first for Boeing Computer Services in Renton and Bellevue, Washington, and then SAIC in northern Virginia. Defense contracts were a part of his life, and he enjoyed many trips to other states and countries.
His health had been declining recently and he passed away at Inova Loudoun Hospital on April 26, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Karen, of Ashburn, VA; his son, Jeff, of Ashburn, VA; his brother, Thomas, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; and his nephew, Mick Carlson of Tampa, Florida. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan, and his sisters, Jill and Sally.
At his request, there will be no funeral/memorial services, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered off Kihei, Maui, to join Jon-Boy.
