Obituary of Andrew Tarapchak

On June 11, 2013 in Millersville, Md., Andrew Tarapchak (93) passed away. Beloved husband of Evelyn Stetz Tarapchak(deceased).
Andy graduated from Penn State University with an engineering degree in 1942. Because of his ROTC program he was commissioned an officer in the Corp of Engineers. He spent a year with a battalion of combat engineers before transferring to the Army Air Force. He was a Captain in the Army Air Corps, piloting B-26 Bombers in 58 combat missions over Germany and France. He was active in the 559th Bomb Squadron Association.
He retired as the Vice President of Distribution for Washington Gas in 1986, after 40 years with the company. He was an accomplished woodworker, and spent many of his retirement years in his basement woodshop, making furniture for his nephews and nieces.
Andy is survived by nephews Edward Bajer (wife Maggie) of Haymarket, VA and Danny Mastervich (wife Debbie) of Springfield, VA. Also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
