I stayed with Jane and Kevin at their house in Herndon as part of town twinning with Runnymede during the late 1990's. They made me feel very welcome and I have fond memories of reading poetry and enjoying amazing home cooked food. The last time I spoke to Jane was not a happy one - I rang to let them know that my mother (Jeanne Cockerill) has passed away in August 2008. I know it's been a long time, but my thoughts are with Jane's family.

I now have Jane's painting of a church right over my desk where I can enjoy it every day ... and it is not possible to look at any of her paintings without bonding with the person who created them.
Years ago, when Maggie was President of the Council of the Arts of Herndon, I dragged myself to many of the art in public places events scattered around Herndon. Often Jane was there, and I remember the first time she disclosed her adopted name - Theodocia. There was a time she considered her background too quiet for her spirit - perhaps in the French period - but in any event, she just began answering "Theodocia" when asked for her name.
I thought then and five years after she passed away continue to think that it fit her perfectly.
Wherever you are, Theodocia, you are missed but your spirit lives.
