Obituary of Starr Freeman Murray

Starr Freeman Murray died Sunday morning, July 21, 2013. She is survived by her husband John Murray, her father Louis Freeman and her children Peter, Matthew, and Kathryn, her daughter in-laws Sheila and Janelle, brothers and sisters David, Ross, Shawne and Cindy and her beloved nieces and nephews. Starr was 60 years old and passed away at her home in Potomac Falls VA. Starr was born and grew up in Baton Rouge, LA where she graduated from Louisiana State University. John and Starr moved to Columbus GA for five years where Peter and Matthew were born before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana. The family moved to Virginia in 1998 and settled in the Cascades community in Potomac Falls. Starr was an active member Our Lady of Hope parish and was a participated in the choir and was a teacher in the church's religious education program. She was also an active member of the local Multiple Sclerosis Support group. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5pm to 8pm July 23rd at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St, Herndon, VA. The funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Hope Church 46639 Algonkian Pkwy, Potomac Falls VA on Wednesday at 11:00 am followed by a reception and luncheon. In place of flowers or expressions of caring for Starr, the family is in the midst of establishing , in her name, a lasting scholarship fund and a source of support for young people in need. Children and young people were her best source of happiness in recent years and Starr was a part of initiating this plan. Donations can be sent to the family's home addressed to the Starr Freeman Murray Memorial Scholarship and Children's Fund.
