Mildred Jane Sandgren, On Monday, July 29, 2013 at her home in Reston, VA. Daughter of Frank and Katherine Shartz, she was born on April 24, 1921 in the farmhouse that had been homesteaded by her Grandfather in a town called Wall Lake in Eastern South Dakota. She was the second of seven children. She went to a one-room school for eight years in Wall Lake and then went on to Hartford High School for four years where she graduated in 1940. Shortly after Graduation she left home for the big city of Washington, D.C. to live with her maiden Aunt Celia. She enrolled at Boyds Business School to study typing and shorthand and attended one year. While in Washington, she met and married Arthur Walter Sandgren. In the next fifteen years she had six children. Four sons and two daughters. They grew up and presented her with fourteen grandchildren. Eight grandsons and six granddaughters. They so far, have produced thirteen Great Grandchildren-----------and counting. Now comes the single most important event in her life. Though she was raised in church, she had never met the only True God till the summer of 1975. At that time, on a visit to her daughter's home in Tennessee, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savoir. Since that time, God has done a miraculous work in her life. She has remained faithful, health permitting, to Church and is faithful in her Daily Walk With Him.
