Obituary of Louis Thomas D'Ambrosio

Louis "Lou" Thomas D'Ambrosio 1965 - 2013 Louis "Lou" Thomas D'Ambrosio, 48, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013, following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Lou was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 7, 1965 to Louis J D'Ambrosio and Elizabeth Virginia Cichelli D'Ambrosio. He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1983 and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University in 1987, as well as a Master's degree in Systems Engineering in 1999 from The Pennsylvania State University. He was the beloved husband of Sharon Dunn D'Ambrosio, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Gerard Thomas, Tyler Michael, and Jordan Elizabeth and brother to Barbara (Daniel) Kashmer. He was the Uncle of Jenna Olds, Marietta Kashmer, and Garrett Kashmer and great uncle of Brody Olds. Lou took pride in working as Director of Operations for Integrated Ground Solutions for Lockheed Martin. Prior to this role, he was a Program Director. He has also held various levels of leadership and technical positions throughout his 20+ years with Lockheed Martin Corporation. He graduated from the Lockheed Martin Program Manager Development Program in May 2001. He was awarded the prestigious LMM & DS Leadership Excellence in 2001, The One in Thousand Award in 2003, and the Lockheed Martin Corporate Nova Award in 2010. In his spare time, Lou loved to spend time at the beach with family and friends, as well as play golf. He also enjoyed watching his children's football, baseball, and soccer games, as well as karate and dance recitals. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Eastern PA, 555 North Lane, Suite 5010, Conshohocken, PA 19428. A college fund will be set up for the children at a later date.
