Obituary of Virginia Catherine Johnson

Virginia C (Stinson) Johnson age 96 passed away due heart failure on February 5, in the home of her loving daughter and son-in-law Monti and Dave Lacombe in Herndon, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Walter Stinson and sister Pauline Thurman. Virginia was born August 12, 1917 in Corinth, MS. She grew up and graduated from high school in St. Louis, MO. During World War II she worked in the Small Arms Ammunition Plant in St. Louis. She became a Board Certified hair stylist working for the May Company at Famous Barr Department Stores. After retirement she moved to Herndon and shared much love and laughter of her daughter and son-in-law as well as many "young" friends and neighbors. She enjoyed window shopping, telling stories from the past, playing Scrabble, spending quality time with JJ (toy poodle), painting, traveling, collecting music boxes, trolls and eating sweets and salt! The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12 from 1-2:00 pm at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA followed by burial at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Donations may be made in memory of Virginia, to Medi- Home Health & Hospice, 9625 Surveyor Ct. Suite 230, Manassas, VA 20110.
