Obituary of Dmytro Andriuk

Andriuk, Dmytro 1935 - 2014 Dmytro "Jim" Andriuk, 78, of Herndon, VA passed away at home in his sleep on February 14, 2014. He is survived by his wife Andree; two sons, Stephan and Patrick; five grandchildren Sherman, Caitlin, Tyler, Ryan, and Erica; and his great granddaughter Lillian. Dmytro was the loving husband of Andree Andriuk for over 56 years and an amazing father to Monique, Stephan and Patrick. Dmytro, a retired Army veteran and 30 year founding member of the American Legion Post 184, devoted his life to his family and loved ones by showing them the world. He loved fishing with his sons and reading a good book. He cherished his grandchildren and passing on his life's experiences through vivid stories. Dmytro was known for his heartfelt poems on special occasions along with a smartly timed joke to get everyone laughing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched. Visitation is at the Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA this Friday, February 21 from 2 to 4 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to American Legion Post 184 at wmkal184.org. Funeral services at Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date.
