Too, you got me interested in river rafting, and I in turn convinced my husband to take a trip on the New River. We really spread our wings that day so many years ago. What an adventure...

Polly was an excellent O.T. She worked with many of my students in Shrevewood Elementary over the years. Polly got the job done, not always so easy with young children and their challenging behaviors.
She was a true professional in every way.
I am so sorry that she is gone. Polly's candle has burned out too soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. She will surely be missed!

I met Polly in the water. I was trying to cross off an item that had been on my bucket list for a long time: learn to scuba dive. The equipment, the skills felt too much for me. I quit! My instructor, Frank Wilson, convinced me to come back the next day. That's when I met Polly for the first time. She took me under her wing and patiently, slowly, took me back to where I had left off the previous day. When I panicked, she would look at me calmly. I still remember those peaceful eyes, slow gestures, which helped me to eventually "graduate" from scuba diving school. A year later, coincidentally, we found ourselves on the same diving trip to Belize. She and her friend Burton teamed up and became my dive buddies. She loved diving, she loved life in and out of water. Later, throughout her ordeal, she taught me patience, endurance, acceptance and grace. I like to think of Polly's spirit, free of suffering, playing among sea life and flying with the birds. Until we meet again. Peace.
