Obituary of Polly Marie Witmer

Polly (Baum) Witmer, 54, of Reston, VA died March 4 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Polly was born in Ridgway, PA. She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1977 and from Mount Aloysius College in 1979. She worked as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Jamestown, NY and Fairfax, VA. Polly was also a certified massage therapist treating both people and animals. She enjoyed being active outdoors with hiking, skiing, running, scuba diving, rafting, and camping. Polly was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Betty Baum. She leaves behind four sisters, Mary Hunt (Don) of Ridgway, PA; Barbara Rendos (Michael) of Lock Haven, PA; Diane Elliott (George) of Fredericksburg, VA; and Laura Lynch (Shawn) of Johnsonburg, PA along with many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors to cherish her memory. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8 at 11:00 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA. A funeral mass and burial will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 10:00 at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, PA.
