She was a great grandmother, but an even greater Christian. She taught me how to proportion bubble letters and paint realistic objects. She taught me how to calm down even when I just wanted to play. She watched me and my cousins go swimming. She told me stories of her childhood. She gave me priceless moments that I will always remember and cherish. Most of all she taught me about God and she taught me about love. She touched so many hearts, I being just one. Right before she died she told me to love my cousins and gave me her mother's necklace. I still cannot open that women's clasp. She was my grandmother and loved me very much. Now I am sad and happy for her as she goes and sees God for the first time, my Creator she told me so fondly about. Here is a poem I made for her honor.
I stare into her crystal blue eyes
The ones that have taught me
About someone greater holding
Love and Life's key
His name is God, ruler of Heaven
He holds me still in his palm
He teaches of love
In his great book of Psalm
My Granny told me about
His deep love for me
How he planned
His death on a tree
She loved me very much
As a Granny should and could
But she loved God more
And he loved her most one his death wood
Now she goes to see her Great Creator
Her body gone but her spirit not vanished
Leaving me in the palm of my hand
Memories and lessons still cherished
I honor her now in this short little poem
She taught me love, lessons, God, and a zero?

What a wonderful mama to me. She let me play in the mud and wear my Army uniforms when daddy was in Vietnam. She made sure I didn't stick my finger in the electric socket when I really wanted to. She taught me about Jesus. She told my teacher that she was stupid, not me. She helped me collect things and made good food. She told me to do something with my life, and then she came to my graduations and such. I am sorry mama - I miss you. She let me rest my head on her shoulder, and I let her do it too. She told me about her mama. She loved my children.

Pat was not supposed to be my teacher at the Corcoran. My class was cancelled and so I ended up with whom will for ever by my teacher, mentor and adoptive Mamma, my dearest Pat.
I went to her classes for many years and she was a God sent angel because when I started learning under her, I was battling with depression. She felt that in her heart right away at the end of the class one day and came all the way down the driveway and said to me "Sweetie, the Lord is telling me you are not well." From that moment on, she will battle at my side, prayed for me and gave me courage, shared her amazing faith, gave me advise and shared her own story to give me hope.
Many years went by and I she was able to see my process of healing as well as my progress in my artistic career which made her so proud.
She will always be in my heart, prayers and memories.
Dearest Jim, Matt, Sarah, Rachel, daughter and sons in law, granchildren and great grandchildren, may God bless and confort you in such a sad moment. But remember she is definitely with Our dear Lord whom she loved and knew so much. Our prayers and love are with you.

Dear Jim, Sarah, Rachel and Matt, Pat was a wonderful friend and neighbor for many years and we will miss her greatly. She never hesitated to share her home, her art work, her faith or whatever else she had in her heart with us. Always ready to lend a hand or give a hug when needed. We often shared heartfelt stories of our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our hearts are sad this night as we think of such an active and vibrant lady who has been put to rest. She fought a brave battle and now she's at peace with our Lord. Please know that we will continue to keep you and all of the family in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

Pat was not just my art teacher she was my Angel. She loved me like her own daughter. She gave amazing advise and love! She always taught with the Lord first!
