Obituary of Pat Hutchens

Martha Patricia "Pat" Mercer Hutchens went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Winnfield, Louisiana on February 22, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Lotta Mercer, and brothers and sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dr. Rev. James M. Hutchens, US Army Chaplain (Ret.) with the rank of Brigadier General. She is also survived by her son Matt and his wife Sybil, her daughter Sarah Bramblett and her husband Todd, her daughter Rachel Criswell and her husband Cris. Pat is survived also by her 12 grandchildren and a great grand daughter, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends whom she adored.
Pat earned degrees from Wheaton College with a BA in Art and Education, a MFA in Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University, a Masters in Management and Development from National Lewis University, and a PhD in Theology from Louisiana Baptist University.
Her accomplishments include co-authoring a book with her husband, Guilty, Keeping God's Covenant of Love with Israel and authoring Hebrew for the Goyim. Pat was a writer and world renowned artist with works in many private and public collections around the globe. Her last series of 40 paintings in 2013 depicting the genocide of Jews during the Holocaust. This collection has been exhibited around the world and is part of the permanent collection at the National Holocaust Museum in the Ukraine and The Jewish Community Center at Auschwitz, Poland. The original works in this series will be housed at Liberty University in their permanent collection.

Pat is to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery on Chaplain's Hill at a future date.
