Mom had been sick for some time. My brother called me 6:35 am Sunday morning I knew I needed to see her and that it might be my last chance. I had to drive to Virginia because I needed to haul my oxygen concentrator and portable oxygen myself. With short notice I couldn't get these on a plane.
I arrived at Warren county hospital on Tuesday morning the 5th with my brother Lewis. Mom was busting with joy to see us both. Lew was on her right side holding her hand I was on the left holding her hand. She was grinning from ear to ear and stated I have both my boys here. She kissed our cheeks. Her spirits were high. I believe this is what she was waiting for. We were told that she was very cheerful and spent hours talking and joking with the nurses late that night. She told the nurse on duty that she was ready to see her husband Joe and her sisters and brothers
At mom's request we were supposed to pick up our cousin Margaret and take her to visit mom but the following morning around 6:30 am we received another call that she took a turn for the worse. My brother Lew, Marlies Christian and I went to the hospital where we met Dan, her boyfriend, Peggy one of her best friends and Tina her great grand daughter. My mom passed away at 1:40 pm. I believe she was at peace.
My heart goes out to Dan who was by her side every day and always looking out for her well being. He was a Godsend to our family. And also to her best friend Peggy who was always there for her. God bless you both for making our mom's life happier.

My Mom was a beacon in my life, showing me the way. Always smiling, glass half full, tomorrow will be a brighter day. Thank you Mom.
