Obituary of Rudolph Ferdinand Uitz

Rudolph Ferdinand Uitz, Jr. Rudy, 73, died peacefully on August 10, 2014 at his home in Reston, Virginia. A celebration of his life will be held On Friday August 22. Interment will be at a later date in Phoenix, AZ. Rudy was born in New Britain, Connecticut to Rudolph and Verda Uitz on April 10, 1941. He graduated from Plainville (Connecticut) High School and completed a bachelor's degree at the University of Connecticut. On June 1, 1963 he married college classmate Elizabeth McMurdie. He worked as an electrical engineer and project manager at IBM and later as a human resource director at Tiber Creek Consulting, Inc. Before moving to the Washington DC area in 1990, he was president of the Saugerties, New York school board and was involved as a coach in Little League sports. He spent many weekends boating with his family on the Hudson River . He also was an accomplished organ player. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents Rudolph, Sr. and Verda. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Rudy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two sons, Ronald (Xia) and Kevin (Mary), daughter Deborah (Thomas), brother Robert (Peggy), and grandchildren Anthony, Bailey, Sydney, Jay, Mia, Jackson, and Andrew.
