I met Michael Sturgeon for the first time at a fundraising event for children's cancer, but Mike, his wife and his son Matt had already been sharing their hard-earned insights and experiences on overcoming and recovering from illness for almost a year prior to that. I will never forget their generosity and patience in preparing and assisting me to navigate the medical world so I was better equipped to overcome my illness. It was incredibly comforting knowing that I had friends who had fought many similar battles and I can never thank them enough for sharing their wisdom and friendship.

Cathy, I'm very sorry to hear about Mike's passing, and I offer my deepest sympathy for you and your family during this difficult time. Mike was a fantastic guy to work with, and I remember him as one of the "core" Sterling government guys,along with Mike Salyards and Jim Bradley. I fondly remember visiting with Mike in the wind tunnel many times at Sterling, he spent LOTS of time there! He will be missed, but he will not be forgotten.

I still remember your dad's face very clearly on the day of your wedding. He was beaming with pride and so happy for you. I know it is not easy to loose a parent. I lost both of mine.
