Obituary of Maria Lacek

Maria Lacek passed away peacefully on October 17, 2014 in Reston, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years John Lacek, Jr.; Her daughters, Donna James (Steve) of Ashburn, VA and Deborah Gilbert (Kevin) of Chantilly, VA; her grandchildren, Sophie, Lily, Claire, Alexa and Lucas. Mrs. Lacek was also survived by her sister, Connie Rio of Syracuse, NY and brother, Manuel Rio, Jr. of Skaneateles, NY. A long time resident of Herndon, VA, she retired from the CIA and NRO after over 30 years of service Maria enjoyed long walks, spending time with close friends, traveling, watching sports, volunteering for Food & Friends, volunteering at the poll booth during town elections, and doing everything with her five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday Oct. 23, 2014 at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, Va 20170. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am Friday Oct. 24, 2014 at St Joseph Catholic Church 750 Peachtree St. Herndon, VA 20170. Interment will be private.
