Obituary of Magdalena Martha Sardo

Magdalena Sardo "Madge" at age 72 was granted her wings as she passed away at 3:45am on December 15, 2014 at her family's home in Virginia. A retired custodial engineer from both Akron Central School in Akron, New York and most recently from Kilarney Elementary School in Winter Park, Florida. Madge was a fun loving person with a kind heart. She liked the simple things in life. Her greatest joys are her grandchildren. She loved going to amusement parks with her grandchildren, riding roller coasters and seeing the thrills and excitement on each of their faces. She also enjoyed spending time with them just hanging around the house playing board games. Madge Sardo is survived by her three children, Teresa Gureckis (husband Michael) of Germantown, Maryland, Michael Sardo (wife Denise) of Ashburn, Virginia and Mark Sardo of Corning, New York as well as her seven grandchildren, Christopher, Tom, Peter, Jack, Grace, Arianna & Marisa. She is survived by her brother John Thomas (wife Cathy) of Castile, New York. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive her. She leaves her most cherished friend Maxine Byrnes of Orlando Florida. She was preceded in death by her Father, John Thomas and Mother, Marie Zoeller Thomas. The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home Chapel, 721 Elden St., Herndon, Virginia. A second visitation will be held on Monday, December 22nd, 2014, 10:00am - 11:00am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, Virginia where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am. A committal service is currently being planned in Buffalo, New York on January 24, 2015 when she will be laid to rest with her beloved father.
