Obituary of Mary Catherine Reinhard

Mary Catherine "Mary Kaye" Reinhard was born May 26, 1943 and passed from this life on February 18, 2015 at the age of 71. Mary Kaye was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and lived in the area until moving to Virginia in 1986. Mary Kaye is survived by her husband, Jack of 16 years, three daughters, Dawn Plucknett, Teri Mays & husband Jeff, Sheri Combs & husband Ron; and one son, Michael Roe McCallie, all of Oklahoma; her mother-in-law, M.D. Reinhard, sister-in-law and husband, Sue and Howard Hobbs. Mary Kaye is also survived by her much-loved grandchildren: Jessica Lane & husband Shaun, James Avery Plucknett, Sierra Mays, Caleb Mays, Jarred Mays and 3 great grandsons, Avery, Jacob, and Harrison. Preceding Mary Kaye in death were her parents Lizzie and John Schwickerath. Mary Kaye was a successful business woman spending the majority of her career in recruiting and career placement, most recently as the CEO of her own business, MKaye Placements, LLC. She was a true example of a self-made, independent woman. Raised in a very modest home by her mother who had a limited education and a stepfather who worked as an auto body repair expert, she knew what it took to "make a living". Without a formal college education, she worked her way through the corporate jungle learning the strategies of recruiting. She was tenacious, persistent, and worked diligently with the people she placed to ensure they were in the "right" position. She was loyal to her clients even to the point of obsessively staying attached to her phone—never wishing to miss a call. More than a business woman, she was a mother and a grandmother. She doted on her children and even more on the grandchildren (and the "grands"). She faced her battle with cancer the same way she faced her job and all her life - full body armor! She fought a good fight. Her family will miss her dearly.
