Obituary of William Anthony Bailey

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On April 6, 2015, the morning after Easter, Bill Bailey passed away from an apparent heart attack. He will live on with all those who knew him as a funny, caring, and completely original person. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Bill was a proud graduate of Highlands High School. He worked his way through the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating with a bachelors in Fine Art. Bill pursued a Masters in Fine Art at North Texas State University before returning to San Antonio to start his own business. Bill and his wife, Laura, lived for 20 years or more in Houston, where Bill invested in real estate, taught acting, and cooked up a storm. Late last year, the Baileys moved to the Washington area, and settled in Reston, VA. Bill's passion was for his family, and for his community. He was a great chef, story teller, traveler, art lover, political pundit, sports nut, and fan of other people. He was entertaining and greatly entertained by others. Bill was the husband of Laura Bailey, father of Ian, son of Herschel and Bertha Bailey, brother of Cheryl Blanchette, Jim Bailey, Tim Bailey, brother-in law to Jack and Emily Green, and son-in-law to Joan Nagle. All will miss him, but will be able to tell stories about him -- and the stories he told -- for many, many years to come. A memorial service is being scheduled at Reston Presbyterian Church. The family only wishes for your prayers and fond memories of Bill.
