Please share a memory of Nilo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nilo Leano Villarin, 78, of Great Falls, VA passed away on May 23, 2015, with his loving wife by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 27,1936 in Manila, Philippines to the late Severo and Consolacion Villarin.
Nilo attended Victorino Mapa High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from MAPUA Institute of Technology in Manila. He has been recognized as a successful entrepreneur, an inventor and a philanthropist. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband and a proud father and grandfather.
Growing up, Nilo enjoyed billiards and playing the piano. Unfortunately, the onset of a condition called multifocal motor neuropathy robbed him of the dexterity in his hands thereby preventing him from participating many of the activities he enjoyed. Later in life he found enjoyment in working on his inventions and was successful in obtaining several patents. In addition, Nilo enjoyed attending family get-togethers, making people laugh, playing poker and watching boxing. What he enjoyed most in the world was traveling to new places with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eufracia Potente and Dolores Ledesma; and a brother, Mario Leano.
Nilo is survived by his wife of 40 years, Myrian; son Neil (Janie) Villarin; daughter Gail (John) Beeman; grandchildren Logan, Ethan, and Reagan Villarin; and his three Jack Russell Terriers, Peanut, Gizmo and Napoleon. He is also survived by a brother, Jose Villarin, and an aunt Trinidad Serra.
