Obituary of Patricia Ann Ciesco
Patricia Ann Ciesco was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, as well as by her husband of 53 years (Frank) and their son (Mark).
She was born in Torrington, Connecticut on a cold January morning. She fondly recounted growing up in such a safe, neighborly town. The family relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the mid-1970's. Years later, when it came time to retire, she and Frank relocated to Reston, Virginia, to be closer to family.
Pat and Frank loved exploring together and took countless spontaneous road trips - some of their favorite spots being the seaside, Disney World and the Las Vegas Strip. Patricia became a fine cook, and her family was always well-nourished.
Patricia was a woman of deep unwavering faith. She regularly attended Mass at St. Joseph's Church in Reston. She was tenacious, protective, forgiving, courageous, generous, and gentle. She collected dolls and loved tiny little things. She had a fondness for Northern Cardinals and always enjoyed her daily walks where she might catch sight of her favorite red bird. She also loved music and dancing and often "whistled while she worked". She was sociable with neighbors and strangers alike, always with a quick smile at the ready. She took delight in confounding her doctors by treating herself holistically and outliving their predictions time and time again. Pat was quick to laugh. She appreciated the simple things in life...an act of kindness shown, a bird's call, a hug.
The love she had for her family knew no bounds...and now has no earthly ones. May her heart - a soft unfading bloom - continue to expand in God's sweet Heaven.
