Deepest condolences. I knew Sue for many years, probably as fellow plankholders for St. Theresa Parish, with MSGR McMurtrie, and then teaching at St. Theresa School for me, from 1999 to 2003 - and then beyond. I never even knew she was fighting. I have the nicest memory of her wearing "clam-diggers" - beautiful Florida turquoise print ankle length pants, and solid top - for our free dress days at school. She was always so friendly and warm to all - and a great teacher. Love and prayers, Bonnie McGann, Ashburn Village, VA.

Mrs. Bateman was a like another Mother for so many of us that knew her. She was always kind, friendly and fun. I have so many great memories of time spent with Mrs. B., from playing board games and cards to debating whether cheerleading is a sport. She had a great wit to her, I loved her sassy responses to my sarcastic comments. She raised three amazing children through which her legacy will live on. Mrs. B has moved on to her final home in Heaven but will always be watching down over her amazing family with love. Jodi, Wendy and Keith, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended family.

Mrs. Bateman, beloved teacher at St. Theresa School in Ashbun left a deep impact in our family's lives. She was the kindergarten teacher for our older children and a welcome "sub" for our younger children. She was the epitome of what a teacher should be - kind, attentive, and loving. The Bateman family will be in our prayers. God bless, the Byrne family.

The Batman's were our neighbors for several years. Those years were some of my fondest because of the connection our families shared. I remember Sue and my mother Kelly sitting on the driveway watching us as kids play in the cul-de-sac on East Beech rd. I remember the laughter, the taco bell visits after school with Sue and my mom, the after dark flashlight tag games, and just pure friendships. I remember Sue's unforgettable laugh...her joyous, giving, personality. She loved kids, and it showed. She was one of those people you will never forget, I miss her very much, and wish I could have seen her more often. Although I cannot dwell on this, as I know Sue lived her life to the fullest, enjoyed her children and grandchildren, and truly cherished every aspect of life. She was like my second mom growing up. That is something I can never forget, and something she didn't have to give. It will stay with me forever. Thank you, Sue for being you. ♡
