Obituary of Susan Nora Fash Bateman

Susan Fash Bateman, 63, of Ashburn, VA, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family after a battle with ovarian cancer. Born on November 2, 1951 in Berwyn, Illinois she was the daughter of the late Roland Robert Fash and the late Myrvin Kase Fash. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Fash. After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Education, she served most of her life as a grade school teacher. She has taught locally at St. Theresa School in Ashburn for over 20 years and has touched so many young lives. She thoroughly enjoyed vacationing with her family and friends, and especially loved sitting on the beach. She is survived by her children, Wendy Lachowicz and her husband, Michael of Largo, Florida, Jodi Potter and her husband, Robert of San Diego, California, and Keith Bateman of Reston, Virgnia; grandchildren, Mikayla and Christian Lachowicz and Mackenzie and Madison Potter; sisters, Patricia Fash, Catherine Chapman and Margaret Brogan; along with her beloved labradoodle, Chloe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Adams Green Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Guest officiating. Burial will take place next week at Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida near where she grew up her entire life.
