I am utterly shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Marc's passing. I have such a vivid memory of his kind smile and his soft, good-natured voice.
I met Marc 8 years ago when I was 17. He produced the film, "The Adentures of Food Boy," and I was honored that he cast me as the leading lady. I remember chatting with him on set one day and asking him where he got the idea for the story, since it was so original and adorably creative. He told me that it was actually based on a bedtime story he had made up to tell his young kids. Unlike most dads' bedtime stories that are told and forgotten, this dad followed his dream and made his bedtime story into a successful film that will always be remembered and watched for years to come. His kids will get the unique opportunity of re-watching their dad's creativity and see his storytelling come to life.
My first thought was for his amazing family; I had the pleasure of meeting his beautiful wife Jennifer, his two youngest sons Myles and Colin, and his brother (and co-producer) Sam. The days on set when Jennifer and the boys would come to visit, I would hang out with the kids between scenes and call Colin (who was really little at the time) my boyfriend, always making him blush. My dad and I always thought so highly of Marc, personally and professionally; we shared an office at Paramount Pictures with him so that he could have a homebase when he was in LA for business. Whenever he visited I remember he'd tell me that my boyfriend Colin said hi.
Marc was so kind, so passionate about his work, and loved his family more than anything. He's a great man and I'll always remember him with joy and affection.

Our condolences to Marc's family. I just learned a half hour ago and find it unbelievable. Although I haven't seen Marc in a few years, I remember vividly when we first met. He submitted a short film for Food Boy to KIDS FIRST! and we gave him an award for it. He attended our event with his beautiful wife (not sure if they were married yet) and co-producer who were all just a great group of young professionals that we embraced with all our hearts.
Then, he turned around and made a feature out of it which we also gave an award to and played it at our annual KIDS FIRST! Best Awards. Marc attended along with many of the cast members incluging Brittany Curran, the female lead. Brittany was so awesome in how she related to all the kids, especially the girl scout volunteers who were there helping us and my cousin's daughter Thea. Brittany joined our board and has become a good friend as well.
Marc's passing certainly reminds me of how important is is to cherish every day and all those wonderful people in our lives who we love so dearly.

I am just crushed by the news of Marc's passing. I last met Marc for breakfast at Stan's Donuts in Westwood a few months ago when he was out in LA on business for PBS Films. He was thrilled about new professional opportunities, and the potential to do something great in film with the PBS brand. The future was so bright, and he had such vision. I am devastated that we will never known what he might have accomplished with the new venture, but comforted somewhat to know that he was finding such satisfaction in his recent work.
As much as Marc loved his work, he loved his family more, and on occasion when I would notify him of interesting professional opportunities for which he was well qualified, his first thought was always for his family, and how a move might impact them. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, a trusted professional confidant, and a good friend.
