CAROL ANN GIBSON On January 2, 2016 peacefully at her home in Ashburn, Virginia. Born April 24, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Jerome and Hazel Hogan. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Mount Mary University where she received her Bachelor's degree. Her career as an elementary school teacher spanned six decades where she made a positive and lasting impact on her students' lives. She enjoyed reading, knitting, swimming, attending the ballet and watching Redskins games, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her three loving children, Steve Gibson and his wife Laurie of Herndon, Karen Irwin and her husband Craig of Bethesda, and Amy Jones and her husband Brian of Fairfax Station, as well as her six loving grandchildren, Christopher, Lindsey, Wesley, Julia, Alanna and Megan. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jerome Hogan and Robert Hogan, and her former husband, Thomas Gibson. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls, VA on Thursday, January 7 at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to our hospice provider, Capital Caring, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042. Arrangements entrusted to Adams-Green Funeral Home.
