Obituary of Alexander Robert Karasek

Please share a memory of Alexander to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alexander Robert Karasek Alexander Robert Karasek, 22, of Sterling VA died January 30 as a result of a drug addiction and accidental overdose. Alexander was a loving soul with a big heart and never liked burdening others with his problems (though his family and friends would have been happily burdened to help him). He was an avid Chicago Bears fan (and even owned a Jay Cutler Jersey!); a gourmand who liked to try new taste sensations including all forms of international and ethnic foods and loved watching Chopped on the Food Channel; a secret nerd who liked to collect pokemon cards (which his dad had been forbidden to throw away these many years later!) and builder of Lego robots in middle school; a kind soul who would help a friend in need; a devoted friend who would diffuse conflict with a joke and laughter. Alexander has surfed in the Outer Banks and Costa Rica; snowboarded in Vermont, West Virginia, Canada and Colorado; cliff jumped into the Potomac River at Great Falls National Park; dived into waterfalls in Arizona; caught many fish with a surf rod off the Carolina coast; cruised the Caribbean with his Mother and family; he was always up to playing frisbee with his dad in the field in the back of the house; he loved playing video games with his brother and friends to the wee hours of the morning. Alexander LOVED Starbucks - three shots of espresso over ice topped with whipped cream (and sometimes drizzled with caramel!). Alexander was a starting lineman for Potomac Falls High School and a black belt in karate; Alexander was a devoted friend and considered a brother and son by his friends and friend's parents. Alexander was dating a beautiful young women, Kelli, and loved spending time with her and her beautiful daughter Emma. Alexander will be remembered for his kind heart and affable nature. Alexander will be missed! Please take the time to pay your respects to Alexander - formal attire is not required. You are encouraged to say a word or two about how Alexander has touched your life - even it is as simple as saying Alex was a dear friend that will be missed.
