Obituary of Elizabeth D. Rhodes
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Dinwiddie Rhodes passed away on May 16, 2016, of natural causes. She was 43 years old. Elizabeth graduated from Robinson High School in Fairfax County, VA, attended and graduated from Radford University, and received her Masters degree in library science from Catholic University.
Inspired by her great love of literature, Elizabeth immediately went to work as a librarian in the Fairfax County library system. She held numerous positions around the system, finally serving as manager of the Fairfax County Library's extensive collection of print and digital media. She loved her work at the library over the years, but her family believes she felt the most joy in her work as a children's librarian. During her varied library career, Beth showed a remarkable ability to retain in memory the names and reading preferences of her many patrons. She took great pride and joy in serving the needs of the library users.
In addition to her many friends, Elizabeth is survived by her Father, Jim Dinwiddie of Alexandria, VA; her Mother and Stepfather, Gail Pinkepank and Mel Fresquez of Rio Rancho, NM; Stepbrother Gregory Mendoza-Fresquez of Fort Worth, TX; Aunt and Uncle Jane Adam-Rosenzweig and Bruce Rosenzweig of Louisville, KY; Aunt and Uncle Kay and Mark Jones, and their daughters Mallory and Megan of Lees Summit, MO; Aunt Cynthia Levy of Bellingham, Washington, and her son Michael Zupon; Uncle Robert Dinwiddie of Kansas City, MO; and close friend and companion Marc Wilcox of Manassas, VA.
