Obituary of John Anderson Hughes

John Anderson Hughes, Jr. (age 69) On June 17, 2016 John A. Hughes, Jr. passed away at his residence in Herndon, VA. Beloved husband of Janice P. Hughes; Loving and devoted father of Charles Roberson of Nebraska, Jestina Roberson of California, Latesa Hughes Bowen of Ashburn, Virginia, John A. Hughes, III of Richmond, Virginia and Jeremy E. Hughes of Herndon, Virginia. Brother of Betty Brown of Jackson, Mississippi, Dorothy Hackman of Columbus, Mississippi and Evelyn Sullivan of Jackson, Mississippi. He is also survived by 9 loving grandchildren and a loving great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and a sister; Johnny, Robert, Willie and Jeanette. Mr. Hughes retired from the Drug Enforcement Agency and then taught Criminal Justice at Sanford Brown University. He was an avid golfer. He also loved deep sea fishing at the Outer Banks. A memorial service will take place at 11:00am Friday June 24, 2016 at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170.
