Not sure if you remember me or not, but I work at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY. I worked with Salo years ago. I just found out about Salo's passing. I just wanted to say how sorry I am. He always had a smile on his face. Hope you are doing well.

Our deepest condolences to the Fajer family. Salo was a great neighbor and a very kind and friendly person. He was always similing, joyful and full of life. Salo did not need to know a person or speak their language, to interact or help people. Our relatives from India who stayed with us for a while, also speak fondly of Salo and how helpful and considerate he was through his kind gestures (though they could not communicate in English).
The Fajer family has always been helpful and friendly with everyone. Salo and Sue have been very welcoming to us and the whole Fajer family helped us quite a lot. We were saddened and shocked to hear of Salo's passing and are still trying to come to terms with it.
Salo's legacy is the positive impact he had and will continue to have on his family, friends, neighbors,co-workers and everyone he interacted with. May his soul rest in peace and his memories continue to be a source of joy and inspiration for all of us.

My Neighbor Salo Kurt Fajer…
The manner in which you loved your family… We knew exactly what your Glorious forwarding address would be,
My neighbor Salo was very friendly and honest,
If I had to describe him, so many words come to mind,
Thoughtfulness and grace, a kindest of heart.
His warm and occasional smile could grace any magazine,
He would even present that smile when he worked in the backyard or light up fireworks for the 4th of July.
He had an affectionate way with family and neighbors,
May love surround the Fajer family
And, when I get to heaven I’ll look for Salo’s Smile.
Respectfully,
Darryl Taylor and Family, (13098 Mares Neck Lane)

As my first boss, Salo caringly showed this 22-year old green kid right out of college the many wonders of the Rolm phone system and Cabletron networking but more importantly how to effectively blend management of technology and the power of teamwork. I confidently rely on all Salo taught me, throughout my continuing 27 years at the University and will always remember Salo with valued appreciation and fond respect. My sincere, heart-felt condolences to Suzanne, Jacob, Sarah and the entire Fajer entire family. – Paul G.

Dear Sue, Renata, Debora, Simone and the entire Fajer family,
My heart breaks at the thought of Salo being taken away so tragically young. As my closest friend through high school and college, there are few with whom I shared such a close bond and friendship that carried on over the decades. Salo was such a wonderful, caring, bright, positive, talented and loving person and the world will be less bright without him in it. May all your memories of him be only good ones, may you continue to feel his presence and influence as you continue with your lives, and may his soul rest in eternal peace together with his father in heaven.
In shared sadness,
Jeff (& Miriam) Green

My deepest condolences for the loss of a wonderful man, husband and father. I met Salo through Ken and instantly knew what an exceptional human being he was. He was kind, intelligent, patient with Ken's never ending questions on any topic that came to mind, a dear friend to Ken and a valued team member at DG. His loss is incredibly difficult for so many, but certainly mostly to his family who he adored. There are no words to help soften the blow of losing such an exceptional man. Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Wishing you strength and peace in the coming days, weeks, months and years. Know that Salo will be with you always in your hearts and in spirit. God bless you all.

Sue, Jacob and Sarah,
Our hearts are broken since we heard of this tragedy. We will always remember Salo as an amazing, dedicated father and husband. We will remember his big smile and kind heart. Sarah and Jacob, no words will make this time better. Ben and Annie remember your dad fondly and how he would make a Sukkah out of PVC piping and how he would sit right next to you during Passover seders in preschool. We wish we could be there to support you during this time of mourning. We love you.

Salo was the gentlest, kindest soul and the most amazing father, so patient and involved with absolutely everything. He brought joy and calmness wherever he was. The loss is overwhelming. You are a very special family and we have lucky to have shared our children's lives over all these years. We will always be there for you and Hannah in particular will always be a friend to Sarah.
