Obituary of Salo Kurt Fajer

Salo Kurt Fajer, of Oak Hill, VA, devoted and loving husband, father, son, and brother, passed away suddenly on July 24, 2016 in Fredricksburg, VA. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Fajer of 22 years; his two children, Jacob Fajer and Sarah Fajer; his mother, Renate Fajer of Gaithersburg, MD; two sisters, Debora Fajer-Smith of Chester, MD and Dr. Simone Fajer-Manor of Tel Aviv, Israel; and eleven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Abram Fajer, just six weeks earlier. Salo was an entrepreneur and a software developer and had several software patents. He was employed by Digital Guardian as Chief Technology Officer. In that role, he was responsible for driving the company’s strategic vision and core innovation efforts while also overseeing product management, product marketing, and product content development. He has over 25 years of experience in the industry, having held diverse technical leadership roles in product management, operations, consulting, and sales engineering. Prior to Digital Guardian, Salo was employed with NitroSecurity and Intel McAfee. Salo’s priority in life was his family, who adored him and his smile and loving ways. He was an avid wood worker, very competitive board game player, and tech master. He had a knack in explaining complex topics to novices. He was a committed member of the NVHC Brotherhood. Salo had a gift to talk with anyone and everyone. He always put everyone in his presence at ease. He cherished his family group hugs. But always most importantly, he was the best father and husband. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 10:00am at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation, Reston, VA. Interment will follow at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA.
