Obituary of Harvey Ross Harris

Harvey R. Harris, 89, of Herndon, VA, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at home. Born on March 4, 1927 in Chicago, IL he was the only child of the late Harvey and Mabel Harris. After graduating from high school, Harvey joined the US Navy, where he served during the end of WWII, including V-Day, earning the American Theatre Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Philippine Independence Medal. After his Military service, Harvey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Brooklyn Polytech, in Electrical Engineering. Harvey went on to retire from Sperry / UNISYS. He is survived by his wife Beverly Sheriff Harris, twin sons Paul (Jackie), and Mathew (Debra), grandchildren, David Cannon, Jessica & Robert Harris. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at their home. A Celebration of Life will be held during that time.
