I just heard the sad news. I'm in a state of shock. Dan was a dear friend and classmate at Marymount University. We worked on an assignment together and he was the most collaborative, intelligent, and dependable friend. Always kept his word and I knew I could count on him.
Dan was always extremely compassionate and generous: he always took the time to listen and give good advice, he gave generously to the Breast Cancer Charity Walk cause that I participated in earlier this year, and he always went the extra mile to help others even when his mother passed away and he was grieving.
R.I.P. Dan Gray.

I've just learned of Dan's passing and am so very sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to work with Dan at Mercer. I remember his compassion, warmth, and zest for life. Shared many great laughs and stories, especially at our semi-annual WRG outings. Wishing you peace and comfort.

John, Fred and Lita,
I am so sorry for your loss. Daniel contacted me on facebook a couple years ago and we had two lovely visits, He came to see me when I was in Rehoboth Beach , drove in the pouring rain and then he returned home the same night. He also visited us in California. He spoke very highly of you John and how lucky he was. Thank-you for offering the service online, I am glad I was able to be a part of it.
Fred and Lita, it has been a long time and I am so sorry to be in contact under these circumstances. Fred I miss your Christmas card, maybe you can send me your current address as I only have the old one. I will be thinking of Daniel, Ipu, my mother Dorothy, my father George this Christmas as that is the day I have many memories of Daniel.
Love,
Nancy

Dan and I served on the CTA Board together for several years. Dan was very generous with his time, support, and a very caring man. Even though we drifted apart when I left CTA, I often thought of him as he had such a big personality and outstanding wit. I will miss him as will the countless others whose lives he so graciously touched.

I am so sorry for your loss, but also for the loss of all who knew Dan and who might have known him, if given the chance. Dan was a force of nature and an incredible man and the world will miss his physical presence. I know his spirit lives on in all who knew him and know you. It is with us and will give us energy to go on when we feel we no longer can.

I met Dan working at Logos. My memories of him will never be forgotten. He was always, friendly, easy to talk to, and approachable no matter what the situation was, work related or personal. He always seemed to ask how I was and say something to make me laugh. Dan used to go to a bakery and would send me an email beforehand and ask what flavors I liked. In my case it didn't matter with cupcakes! The next day or so a gourmet cupcake would show up on my desk with a smile on a sticky note. This went on for almost 8 years. I would go back to his office with a half eaten cupcake in my hand smiling and he would just look up and smile back at me with one on his desk also. I will miss him and will not forget him. My heart goes out to his family and will be thinking of them and praying as time goes by. I pray for guidance and strength for family, and that our Lord Jesus is holding him in his arms so he doesn't hurt any more.

I worked with Dan for several years at Logos. My wife and i enjoyed his company several times out of work. Dan was simply a wonderful man -always ready to help and with a smile. The world is a little more quiet and less friendly with Dan not in it. To his family and loved ones, we hope the memories and joy that Dan brought to all give comfort in this terrible time. A famous song (and Dan liked the music i did) says " the love you take is the love you make." We know that he sure took a lot with him to whatever awaits us on the other side.

My Dearest Dan –
In your honor I will keep this as brief as possible as I know how you felt about PDA’s – everyone who knew Dan knows he was not a huge fan of public displays of affection.
To quote the author Charles Dickens, “It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.” Having you in my life was truly the best of times but now knowing that you will not be with all of us who loved you dearly, the absolute worst of times!
My hope is that you knew just how much you meant to everyone; especially me. Your wit, your humor, your silly made up jingles, your unfiltered comments, and your ability to know just what to say at the right time will never be forgotten. You were an inspiration to me professionally – always encouraging me to look for more – supporting me through my Masters work at Hopkins with a few work projects – and then trusting me to work with you at Logos on various projects. I often joke that my current part-time job with the Orioles was the best part-time job I ever had; but the truth is our “office days” were the absolute BEST – we always found a way to turn them into a social event while getting the work done.
On a personal note, you were truly my best friend! There was never a day that went by where we didn’t touch base with each other either by text, email or phone. And by phone, it was usually when you were driving with one hand on the wheel and the other on the horn! You always knew you could say whatever you wanted – however you wanted – with no holding back!
Your love and dedication to your family and friends are an inspiration to us all. You and Lita made sure that your parents were well taken care of in their golden years and you visited them faithfully to make sure their needs were met. I know that John and Lita will continue to care for your father in the coming days, months, and years. My hope is that your mom was there to greet you in heaven where you can be at peace.
I will never forget the last time I saw you on your 4th wedding anniversary with John in late August. We spent a great afternoon together and you even painted a picture – one that will now be forever cherished by Lita on her mantle at home! I will always remember the time we spent together – the day you married the love of your life - the countless art galleries, trips to the BSO, dinners out, Christmas Eve at the condo, two Midnight Masses over the years, buying your Maxima up here in B’more, your first trip to Nats Park for my 50th last year when you got the baseball, and the list goes on and on. I lived vicariously through you and John on your many trips to the west coast, wine country, and Europe; trips to Texas and Florida to visit family and friends. You lived life to the fullest!
Dan, thank you for welcoming me as part of your family and your life with your dear spouse John. It is these bonds that will see us all through the difficult days ahead as we come to terms with the enormity of the hole you have left in each of our lives and in the lives of everyone who knew and loved you!
Rest in peace my dear friend – and please be our guardian angel until we see you again! This will never be good-bye but it is farewell for now.
XXXOOO

For the family of Daniel Gray; May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. Our most sincere condolences. Dan worked with us at Noesis, Inc. and then Defense Holdings, Inc. He was our right hand man supporting the build out of one of our facilities as well as supporting our organization in Human Resources. A man of many talents. He was a dear lunch friend
and generally would be the first to reach out to set a lunch date to catch up on "things". So glad he was part of our lives.

Dan was a bright, original, loving, loyal and hilarious friend. I will miss his wry humor, his warm embraces, his constant support and friendship and his uncanny memory of things that mattered to me. His warm, thoughtful, considerate insights brightened my days. Mike and I will miss him so much. To John and all the members of Dan's family, abundant love and peace be with you.
